Experian B2B Prospector is powered by our unique business directory, Experian’s National Business Database (NBD). By using Data Validator, you can now check that data you purchased still exists within Experian’s NBD at any time…for FREE.
As part of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have a legal obligation to ensure your marketing data is up to date and valid for use. Experian’s Data Validator helps with compliance by enabling you to regularly check that data you purchased from Experian is still considered valid to contact.
It’s easy to use. Simply upload your data to Data Validator as often as you like and especially just before you use it for a marketing campaign. We will then automatically check our live database and tell you if your purchased contacts are still valid for marketing purposes. Meaning you can buy, use and update Experian business marketing data with confidence.
Validate your data today
Data Validator is a tool within Experian B2B Prospector, which checks to see if your purchased data still exists as a valid record in Experian’s National Business Database.
For each record uploaded into Data Validator, you can choose whether to check the business’ name and address, email, phone number and Telephone Preference Service (TPS and CTPS) status. Only the fields you select will be checked when uploaded to Data Validator. So, it’s important to check all the data fields you use, or intend to use, for marketing purposes.
By checking to see if your data still exists within Experian’s National Business Database, you are checking whether your purchased data is still valid to use for the marketing purpose you acquired it – helping support your compliance with the GDPR.
By regularly checking and cleansing your marketing data, you benefit from:
The file you download after processing will contain one of the following 3 validation flags, indicating whether that record still exists within Experian’s National Business Database (NBD) and is valid to use:
When a purchased record is no longer valid within Experian’s National Business Database, this means you should stop using this data within your marketing campaigns.
There may be various reasons why the record no longer matches; however, one of the most likely reasons is that the data subject (the individual) has objected to the use of their data for marketing purposes. This is an absolute right under the GDPR and therefore you should no longer use that record.
Experian’s National Business Database is updated monthly. To ensure your purchased data is as up to date as possible, it is recommended that you check your data using Data Validator at least every 30 days.
