A current ratio is a liquidity ratio that indicates a company’s ability to meet its short and long term obligations. The ratio compares assets which will become liquid within approximately twelve months with assets which will be due for payment in that period. The calculation for this ratio is (current assets ÷ current liabilities). A current ratio of less than 1 could be a concern.
