My Experience So Far
I am currently working as a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst in Credit Services Finance. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Experian Finance Graduate Scheme as it allows me to work in different segments within the organisation. This has provided me with a good overview and understanding of how different parts of the business work (structure, markets, products), and I’ve developed good networks across the UK business. I’ve been able to take a hands-on approach and have been part of numerous high profile pieces of work, something that the Graduate Scheme encourages.
During my first two years on the Finance Graduate Scheme I have learnt a huge amount. I’ve developed key skills, whilst being given the opportunity to work closely with senior management. I’ve really benefited from the opportunity to work across different parts of the business during the scheme, and a common theme I’ve experienced is the positive attitude and team working of the finance teams. I take pleasure in being given responsibility to drive through process improvements and work on numerous key projects. There is a strong support network in place, especially during the intense CIMA study periods!
Since joining the scheme, I’ve taken part in numerous community days (three a year!), varying from helping to build new paths and plant trees at a local farm, to re-decorating classrooms at local schools. The Credit Services and Decision Analytics finance functions recently joined up on a team building event at Go Ape in Sherwood Forest too, where we conquered the 40ft climbing course and tested out the speedy Segways.
Memorable Moment at Experian
I was recently awarded my third FAN (Financial Achievement Nomination) award during my time in Credit Services. The FAN award is awarded in recognition of valuable contribution to finance. It is a great feeling to be nominated by fellow colleagues and listen to some of the kind words and positive feedback they had chosen to share. I’d also like to mention the fun community days and team building events we have here at Experian.
