Volunteer in the Community
Being part of an Early Careers programme here at Experian, you will have the chance to take part in a number of voluntary activities and community days. These opportunities will give you a chance to give back to the local community and help you to meet and socialise with other students and graduates across a variety of different programmes.
We will give you 3 days paid volunteer leave per year. This year, we raised £100,000 for our charity fund, which goes by the name of the “Heart of Experian”, and 2,218 individual volunteering days were used (which is the equivalent of 1 employee working full time for 8 years!).
Here are some examples of what our students and graduates have got involved in...
Our Information Technology graduates had the opportunity on their induction week to visit Mulberry Court Care Home in Nottingham and do some gardening. They had great fun and all made fantastic progress on the gardens, and met the residents who were happy with the work that they had done.
One of our Finance Graduates decided to organise a volunteer day for the other finance teams in her area. There were around 15 of them who went along to St Ann’s Advice Centre and Food Bank in Nottingham, where they cleared out the out of date stock in the food bank (which took a fair few hours!) as well as putting some food bank packages together, and cleaned the entire centre internally and externally. They received some lovely feedback from the centre.
As a student or graduate at Experian, you will have the opportunity to get involved in community activities such as these, as well as other voluntary activities run by your department. These opportunities not only develop existing skills and help you to build new networks, but they are lots of fun too! Making a difference in our communities is an integral part of Experian's commitment to society.
